General information on events 

The Danish Club endeavours to organise at least one event per month as well as holding a number of regular events such as monthly bridge sessions and biannual golf meetings (spring and autumn). Other Club fixtures include a celebration of our patron, HM Queen Margrethe’s birthday, Mortensaften (St. Martin’s Eve), Danish Christmas lunches and Network evenings for the younger membership.

Events over the past year include a lobster party, a speciality cheese and wine evening, a concert by the popular Danish group, TV2 (organised jointly with the Danish YWCA and the Danish Church), a presentation by Peter Høgsted, the Danish MD of IKEA, a party for young Danes, and a gala dinner to celebrate the Club’s 140^th birthday in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

We also arrange joint events with the Anglo-Danish Society, the Danish Church, KFUK, and the Arts Club.

We’re keen to arrange new events and would like to hear from you if you have any ideas.

	Sasha Newley Private View
	The Arts Club with The Catto Gallery are pleased to announce New York-based artist Sacha Newley’s first exhibition in London since 2001, which will unveil an entirely new body of paintings and drawings. Newley’s work examines universal themes of life, death, philosophy and religion within a more personal context of the Artist’s own childhood and theatrical family history. Key pieces in the exhibition are large-scale canvases

	Danish Buffet Lunch
	Traditional Danish Cold Table full of wonderful delicacies; on the menu will amongst other things be herrings, smoked salmon, gravad lax, prawns, smoked pork and Danish salami along with warm plaice fillets, pate, pork loin. Of course, there will be a joint of traditional Scotch roast beef with Yorkshire pudding too!

	This splendid summer garden party traditionally takes place following the Authors’ Club AGM and all members of the Authors’, Arts and Danish Clubs are invited to attend.

	Piano Recital
	We are delighted that Alexander Ardakov has agreed to return for a Summer concert. He tantalised us all with his virtuoso playing last year, which was simply spell-binding. Alexander is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatoire and Professor of Piano at Trinity College of Music. He will be playing Glinka, Scriabin, Chopin, Liszt, and Tchaikovsky. There will also be a glass of wine at the interval. Starts . Order your own food from the a la carte menu.
