The Danish Club endeavours to organise at least one event per month as well as holding a number of regular events such as monthly bridge sessions and biannual golf meetings (spring and autumn). Other Club fixtures include a celebration of our patron, HM Queen Margrethe’s birthday, Mortensaften (St. Martin’s Eve), Danish Christmas lunches and Network evenings for the younger membership.

This popular event was a huge success - thanks to the presentation by Director Nils Ørum-Nielsen, Danish Beer ltd andto everyone attending – 55 in all! Please see below for other great events.We will have the christmas party on 27 Nov - I urge as many of you to attend as possible - so far 55 has booked!! - The Christmas Lunches starts on 2nd Dec. Saturday 5 Dec turns out to be a very popular day as well. We will have stalls with luxury clothes, fantastic scandinavian x-mas decor, jewelery,bags - mulled wine ...make sure to pop in.

  SEPTEMBER
  Wednesday 2nd - The Danish Club Summerdrinks
   

The Danish Club hosted Summer Drinks in the garden and all members were invited to attend. This was an excellent opportunity to meet members and likeminded professional Danes from the new Danish Club and Dabgo networking group. 70 -80 members joined and we also had the pleasure to meet Ambassador Birger Riis-Jørgensen and wife.' Cafe kølbert' entertained with the Waiter Team.

       
  Tuesday 8th - The Danish Club Golf Tournament
   

Our popular Autumn Golf on 8th September 2009 at The Leatherhead Golf Club was again this year an exciting affair. with fantastic weather and many golf enthusiasts this turned out to be a sold out event with 40 guests and members. Please do join us next year or maybe also try our ever so popular Spring Golf in may 2010.

  Thursday 22th - Beer tasting at The Danish Club
   

Danish Beer Ltd distributes high quality beers from Danish micro-breweries. They produce beers, organic soft drinks and smoothies. Dir. Nils Ørum-Nielsen from Rise Brewery will be this evenings speaker and he will talk us through the making of the beers while we sample the them.It will be an excellent evening with beer tasting and we are expecting 70-80 members for this evening.

This will be a great evening to meet new people and to do some networking.

    We enjoyed a very nice Mortens Eve dinner last year with 35 members. You know the story about the ducks – it should be goose but ducks it is – who otherwise we will tell the story on the evening. It’s a very traditional Danish and hope you have an enjoyable evening.

  Saturday 5th - Christmas Saturday afternoon at the Club
   

We are open this Saturday for th whole family. it will be a wonderfull saturday midday christmas event for children and adults. Santa Claus will be in the christmas decorated drawing room. he will listen to childrens wishes and hand out presents. we will enjoy glogg/mould wine, brunkager/gingercakes and christmas music. we hope to have Lucia to come by and sing for us.

Go christmas shopping at Bond Street and then pop into the Club with the family and enjoy the Club in Christmas spirit

    The Royal Danish Opera’s new production, led by Inger Dam-Jensen and star counter-tenor Andreas Scholl.

  Friday 19th - Per Kirkeby at Tate Modern
    We are happy to be able to offer our members an out-of-hour viewing of this unique exhibition of the famous Danish artist Per Kirkeby. I will need names of members attending the exhibition the week before the event in order for nessesary security passes. We will have the Tate Modern ass curator to show us around and he will also tell the story of the paintings. We will meet by the main entrance at 8.45 am

  Wednesday 27th - Cabaret Show "Miss Polly Rae & her Herly Girls
       
    Hurly Burly are very proud to announce that they will be bringing their popular brand and vintage cabaret to the Arts club. The award winning act ‘Hurly Burly’ introduces a delicious blend of cabaret and a decadent artistry. Seen on front cover of ‘Time out’, BBC TV, and BBC radio.

  Sunday lunch - Sunday the 26th April
    Charles Dickens, Wilkie Collins And Sir Arthur Conan Doyle were all members of the Arts Cub and each had views of life and death or re-birth. This topic was of great interest to the population in Victorian times as it maybe is today? Robert will engage the audience in a question and answer discussion after the talk.

  Celebration of Queen Margrethe II’s birthday - Thursday 16th April
    This year we will bring out the champagne and celebrate in style with black tie , dinner and dance. This is a very popular event – please do join us.
